In December 2005 – Brooklyn-based Creative Agency THUNDERDOG STUDIOS INC. happily announced the creation of its very own toy label! THUNDERMUTT was the debut toy on THUNDERDOG’s brand new Toy Label! THUNDERMUTT is a 4″ tall, rotary cast, soft-vinyl figure produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces. Designed by THUNDERDOG founder and President Tristan Eaton, this toy is accompanied by a special, hand-signed and numbered print. THUNDERMUTT also has a secret interior design that can only be revealed by removing his ‘ginormous’ head.

Many subsequent editions were released – the most famous ones being Thundermutt 14.5 and Thundermutt 3.0 which were sold out. The latest Thundermutt Mini designed by artist Mike Burnett stands at only 1 inch tall and comes in limited edition of 200 pieces only. The mini Mutt still holds his own in a custom blister package and keychain. Made from ABS Plastic, the mini Mutt has an articulating head and extremely intricate paint designs that are durable in the pocket. There are 5 mini Mutts to collect – Lucha, Nerd, Superhero, Trucker and WereWolf.

About the designer

Tristan Eaton: Born in Los Angeles in 1978, Tristan began pursuing street art as a teenager, painting everything  from billboards to dumpsters in the urban landscape wherever he lived, including London, Detroit and New York.  Eaton designed his first toy for Fisher Price at 18 years old and has since become a driving force in the world of ‘  Designer Toys ‘. As a creative leader in the world of advertising, Eaton regularly consults such brands as Hasbro, Pepsi and Nike on many creative projects that span the globe and cross all mediums . Tristan is currently the President and Creative Director of THUNDERDOG STUDIOS, INC., a prominent New York based Designer Toy Brand and Creative Agency and happily resides in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Mike Burnett: He is arguably the world’s twenty-seventh great tinkerer of moveable, wooden, toy-like sculptures and perhaps can even be accused of inventing characters for his own amusement. Some question whether he really undertakes his craft at all with three children, two dogs and a full time job at a major greeting card conglomerate. Burnett was recently named “Father of Little Wooden Figurines” by the International Society of Comparative Woods and continues paving the way for ground-breaking tinkering of succeeding generations.
